El Presidente revolves on the life of first president of Philippine Republic, Emilio Aguinaldo (Jeorge Estregan), it started with him as a child, through his career journey. From joining the Katipunan, to war General, his leadership in Cavite as a mayor of Cavite El Viejo up to being a president. Meanwhile Bonifacio (Cesar Montano) establishes his own revolutionary government and Aguinaldo wanted him exiled because he is concerned about its actions but the War Council order the execution. It follows him also how he struggle for the freedom of the Philippines from the Spaniards colonization, he meet with the U.S. officials who approach him and offers a support and recognition of a new Philippine Republic. On 1899 the Philippine American War and General Antonio Luna (Christopher de Leon) was appointed to lead the Filipino forces against the American and three months later he was assassinated. As a result, Aguinaldo flee from the American Invaders but eventually captured. Over the next few decades Agunaldo witness how the Philippine history unravels.
