Before she became famous for her nickname JWOWW, Jennifer Farley was simply your average New York girl with big dreams. Originally a graphic designer and club promoter, she put her career on hold when she became one of the main cast members of Jersey Shore, an MTV reality show. After she appeared on the debut episode of the show, Farley became a household name.
Born on February 27, 1986 on rural East Greenbush, New York, she is of Irish-Spanish American descent and graduated in Columbia High School. At the age of 21, she moved from Franklin, New York to New York City to pursue graphic design. She attended a local university and became the marketing vice president for ignitionnation.com in 2008.
The MTV TV series Jersey Shore is based in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. The show propelled her and her other roommates Angelina Pivarnick, Paul DelVecchio, Ronald Ortiz-Magro, Vincenzo Guadagnino, Samantha Giancola, Michael Sorrentino and Nicole Polizzi, into the spotlight. The show, though somewhat controversial, initially sparked interest in the Italian-American community but later on became a hit with its millions of fans tuning in every week.
Jersey Shore is currently one of the most-viewed shows on the MTV Network and with this status, the cast have become household names worldwide. They are also the icon of the guido/guidette culture in America. JWOWW has been a main cast of the show since its inception, from Jersey to Miami and recently to Florence, Italy for the Season 4.
Throughout the series, she showed her blunt yet honest personality, along with her funny and sensitive character, particularly when she parties, fights and plays with her castmates. Despite the reports of the cast not signing their contracts unless their pay was increased, they eventually signed on to film the upcoming season. Season 5 is currently on the works and will air on February 2012.
In April 2011, MTV announced that it would have a couple of Jersey Shore spin-off series. One will cast her and her Jersey co-star Snooki (Nicole Polizzi) and centers on their wild and crazy illegal antics. The show is slated to air in 2012.
Since her TV debut, Farley has used her popularity for a number of lucrative business opportunities. In 2010, she released her book ‘The Rules According to JWOWW: Shore-Tested Secrets On Landing A Mint Guy, Staying Fresh To Death, and Kicking the Competition to the Curb’. She also launched the Jwoww Black Bronzer lotion contract with Australian Gold, a tanning lotion maker.
In July 2010, she launched a clothing line ‘Filthy Couture’ through a Las Vegas runway show. After four months, Farley was forced to cease sales after a company with a similar trademark threatened her with a lawsuit. However, she said that the clothing line is not over and a new brand is up for release.
She has also appeared in few other shows such as Total Nonstop Action Wrestling and Disaster Date. She has also started her own skincare line. Recently, she launched her very own fragrance titled JWOWW by Jenni Farley.
